Last Saturday i volunteered at the Great American Food and Music Fest with my School.
the booth i worked at was Zingerman's. Zingerman's is located in anarbor, michigan. they have their own restaurant, deli, bakeshop where they make their own bread and candy bars, and a cheese creamery. at the booth we sold blt's where the customer could choose from 4 differnt kinds of bacon, a bacon platter with the 4 bacons on it, a cheese platter, and the candybars. i got to eat bacon and cheese all day! haha. it was really tiring though.. it felt like we were making blt's for years! we were getting blt orders NON-STOP! we got there at 10am and got out at 10pm. i had like one 10 minute break the whole time! it was crazy. i love doing these things because they remind me why i am going to school and why i love what i do so much! they also make me realize how fortunate & blessed i am to be getting opportunities like these! the owner writes books, and his new book on bacon is coming out. he's gonna send me and the group that worked the booth one! im thinking about doing my extern here because i think it would be awesome to work in all the different fields they have. but michigan?! i dunno.. haha. but its only for 3 months right! thats not bad..
after a long, hard, never ending day of making blt's, it was all worth it because i got to meet bobby flay and i got to take home 2 FULL bags of free goodness!
